SEND ME TOMORROW'S SIGNAL → · THE MORNING WATCH, free every morning.
Plenty of people carry a knot in the stomach where the blessed hope should be, especially people raised on end-times films, empty-house panics as a child, and preachers with countdowns. Some lie awake after every red headline. Some can trace it to one sermon. This page takes that seriously. What it will not do is treat the fear as proof the doctrine is cruel, or treat you as faithless for feeling it.
Read the endings, not just the trumpets. The great rapture passage does not close with “be afraid”:
| Passage | KJV Text |
|---|---|
| 1 THESS. 4:18 | “Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” |
| JOHN 14:1-3 | “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions... I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” |
| TITUS 2:13 | “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;” |
| 1 THESS. 5:9 | “For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,” |
| 2 TIM. 1:7 | “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” |
“Let not your heart be troubled” is not a suggestion appended to the promise. It is the frame Jesus Himself put around it. A teaching of His return that manufactures terror in His people has been bent somewhere between the text and the pulpit.
Settle it. Not with a feeling, with Him: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” (Romans 10:9). And once settled, it is His grip, not yours: “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand” (John 10:28). The one page on this site that matters more than any other is here. If the anxiety keeps returning to the same doubt, take it there tonight and leave it there.
Two more things, said plainly. First: talk to a pastor. A real one, in a room, not a feed. Fear that has lived in you for years usually loosens in conversation, not in scrolling. Second: anxiety can also be a medical matter. If dread is disrupting your sleep, your work, or your body, seeing a doctor is not unbelief. The God who made your soul also made your nervous system, and He is not honored by your refusing help with either. “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).
